The Portland Charity Group is made up of Portland College, Pollyteach and Jump Start. Portland College provide education, care and work opportunities to people with learning disabilities based on a campus close to Mansfield with a number of campus sites in Nottinghamshire. Pollyteach is an independent school and Alternative Provision, Jump Start is an Alternative Provision, both based across various sites in Nottinghamshire.

The HR team at Portland Charity are based at the main Portland College campus in Harlow Wood, Mansfield and provide comprehensive and efficient HR support and advice to approximately 600 managers and staff.

Due to expansion of the team, we are recruiting a HR Services Assistant to will provide first line advice and guidance to all areas of the organisation and administration support within the HR team.

No two days are the same in this generalist role where you will gain experience across all areas of the HR function.  You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work accurately and efficiently, managing a varied workload.  You must have great organisational and excellent interpersonal skills to maintain a high level of customer service and provide good quality HR advice on a range of topics.

 

We are looking for someone who is adaptable and can respond positively to changing priorities. Experience working in HR is essential and you should hold level 2 qualifications in English and maths (GCSE grade C/4).

Working Hours

Portland College supports flexible working and the hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. There is an opportunity to work from home one day a week upon successful completion of the probationary period.
